Shawn Michael Bullock, Ph.D., P.Phys., was most recently a Professor of the History of Science, Technology and Education at the University of Cambridge, U.K. He has since changed careers, but does continue to engage in some academic work–research, teaching, and the supervision of students. He is now an Adjunct Professor at both Ontario Tech University and Simon Fraser University.
He uses the lenses offered by the history and philosophy of science and technology to examine issues in education, particularly, the history of higher education in physics in the 19th century, the history of technology, the history of engineering education, and the history of multilingual education. Dr. Bullock also conducts research on teacher education and professional development, with a particular focus on self-study methodology.
